How to Play

What is Towering Fortunes

Towering Fortunes is a high-volatility 5-reel, 20-payline slot from Pragmatic Play that wraps classic luxury symbols (private jets, yachts, sports cars) around a Hold & Spin bonus. The real draw is how the grid expands and builds multipliers reel by reel. It’s straightforward to get into, and the payout potential sits at 6,422× your stake.

Interface Overv

Towering Fortunes interface

The layout is clean and familiar if you’ve played any recent Pragmatic title.

You’ll mainly use:

  • + / – buttons next to the Spin button to set your total bet (0.20–100).
  • Spin / Autoplay / Turbo controls along the bottom.
  • The info (i) button opens the paytable, rules, and current RTP.

There’s no need to memorise every icon. Focus on the bet display and the Spin button—everything else is secondary until the bonus hits.

Complete Game Flow

  1. Set your stake using the +/– controls.
  2. Hit Spin (or enable Autoplay).
  3. Wins form when three or more matching symbols land left-to-right on any of the 20 fixed paylines.
  4. Watch for Money symbols (skyscraper icons). Three or more anywhere on the reels trigger the Hold & Spin feature.
  5. During Hold & Spin the grid expands and you collect cash values until every reel runs out of lives.
  6. The round pays out the total collected values (multiplied per reel) and returns you to the base game.
  7. Repeat.

That’s the entire loop—five to seven steps at most.

Core Mechanics / Special Features

Mystery Symbols

Briefcase icons can land in the base game. When the spin ends, every Mystery symbol on the reels turns into the same randomly chosen paying symbol. Useful for line wins, but secondary to the main event.

Hold & Spin – the defining feature

Land 3+ Money symbols anywhere. The normal 5×3 grid disappears and is replaced by a towering 5-reel × 11-row grid. Only Money symbols and blanks can appear.

  • Triggering Money symbols drop to the bottom of their reels and stay locked.
  • Each of the five reels starts with 3 lives.
  • Every time a new Money symbol lands on a reel, that reel’s lives reset to 3.
  • A blank costs one life. When a reel reaches 0 lives it is blocked and stops spinning.
  • The feature ends when all five reels are blocked (or the entire grid is full).

Reel-specific multipliers (the real differentiator):

The more Money symbols stack on a single reel, the higher that reel’s multiplier becomes:

Money symbols on one reel
Multiplier applied to that reel’s total
5 or fewer
1×
6 2×
7 5×
8 10×
9 20×
10 30×
11 (full reel)
100×

Each reel’s collected cash values are multiplied by its own multiplier, then everything is added together for the final payout. This per-column stacking is what separates Towering Fortunes from standard Hold & Spin games where multipliers sit on individual symbols.

Payout / Settlement Rule

Towering Fortunes game rules screenshot

  • Default RTP: 96.50% (some casinos run 95.50% or 94.50% versions—always check the in-game info panel).
  • Volatility: High.
  • Max win: 6,422× stake.
  • Line wins pay left to right only. Money symbols only pay through the Hold & Spin feature; they do not form regular line wins.
  • All values shown in the paytable scale with your chosen stake.

Common Mistakes

Mistake: Treating every Money symbol as equal and ignoring which reel they land on.

  • Why it’s wrong: Multipliers are calculated per reel. Five symbols spread across five reels give almost no multiplier boost; the same five stacked on one reel still give nothing special, but six or more on a single reel start unlocking real multipliers.
  • Correct approach: Focus on filling individual columns rather than just collecting as many Money symbols as possible.

Mistake: Expecting the bonus to re-trigger or last forever.

  • Why it’s wrong: Once a reel loses its three lives it is permanently blocked for that round. There are no extra lives or re-triggers.
  • Correct approach: Accept that the feature has a hard end and maximise the symbols you already have.

Mistake: Assuming the base-game Mystery symbols will produce big wins.

  • Why it’s wrong: They only transform into regular paying symbols and rarely create the kind of stack needed for a high payout.
  • Correct approach: Treat them as a pleasant side feature and keep your eyes on Money symbols.

Winning Strategies

1

Column priority

In the Hold & Spin, a half-full reel with a rising multiplier is often more valuable than three reels with only two or three symbols each. Watch the multipliers at the top of each column.

2

Bet sizing for volatility

Because the game is high volatility and most of the return sits in the bonus, many players prefer smaller base bets so they can survive longer dry spells while waiting for the 3+ Money trigger.

3

Checking the RTP

Open the info screen before you start. If the displayed RTP is below 96.50%, you are on a reduced version.

Towering Fortunes FAQ

How do I trigger the Hold & Spin?

Land three or more Money (skyscraper) symbols anywhere on the reels in the base game.

Do the multipliers apply to the whole board?

Can the bonus re-trigger?

No. Once all five reels are blocked the feature ends.

Is there a free-spins round?

No separate free-spins feature.

What’s the highest multiplier I can get on one reel?

100× when a single reel fills all 11 positions.
